CF Benchmarks Brings TradFi Index Pricing Onchain via CFB Oracle

Key points

  • CF Benchmarks has launched CFB Oracle, making its financial benchmarks available to blockchain applications on Ethereum, HyperEVM and Robinhood Chain.
  • The company's indices already underpin BlackRock's bitcoin ETF and CME Group's crypto futures, covering more than 120 billion dollars in assets.
  • Payward, which owns both Kraken and CF Benchmarks, plans to use CFB Oracle for a US perpetual futures product built on Hyperliquid, pending regulatory approval.
  • CFB Oracle data is digitally signed for provenance verification and is published at the same frequency for all customers, without premium tiers for faster access.
  • The service enters a market where Chainlink and Pyth already supply reference prices to decentralised trading and lending platforms.

CF Benchmarks, the Kraken parent Payward-owned firm whose indices underpin BlackRock‘s bitcoin exchange-traded fund and CME Group’s crypto futures, has launched CFB Oracle, a service that makes its benchmarks for cryptocurrencies, stocks, bonds, commodities and currencies available to blockchain-based applications. The service is live on Ethereum, HyperEVM and Robinhood Chain, with additional networks planned.

The practical case for CFB Oracle rests on infrastructure that tokenised finance currently lacks at scale: authoritative, tamper-evident reference prices for assets held or traded onchain. A tokenised equity fund needs reliable net asset value calculation; a lending platform accepting tokenised bonds as collateral needs liquidation triggers it can trust. CF Benchmarks already supplies this type of data to products representing more than 120 billion dollars in assets across traditional markets, and CFB Oracle ports that same pricing layer to decentralised applications without requiring developers to build their own systems.

Payward itself has a named use case in the pipeline: it intends to use CFB Oracle to power a US perpetual futures product built on Hyperliquid, though that offering is still awaiting regulatory approval. The launch places CF Benchmarks in direct competition with established onchain data providers including Chainlink and Pyth. CF Benchmarks differentiates on two points: digital signatures that let applications verify data provenance and integrity, and a uniform publication frequency across all customers rather than a tiered speed model.
