APAC collateral acceptance tracker: which venues accept which tokenised assets

TL;DR

This tracker exists because collateral mobility is the through-line of half the region's tokenisation pilots (Project Ensemble, GL1), but no single page listed which specific venues, banks, or platforms have actually said, publicly, that they accept a specific tokenised asset as collateral. Deliberately narrow by design: only publicly disclosed arrangements, and each entry marked live or announced-intent, since those are meaningfully different states. Two entries as of this writing; expect this list to grow as more announcements land, and treat its shortness as a reflection of how early this specific use case (not the tokenisation of the underlying asset, but its acceptance as collateral by a named counterparty) still is, not as a complete registry.

Tracked arrangements

AssetAccepting venue/custodianStatusAnnouncedDetail
BlackRock BUIDL (tokenised US Treasury MMF)OKX, with Standard Chartered as off-exchange custodianLive28 April 2026Eligible institutional and VIP clients can post BUIDL as trading margin while it remains held off-exchange with Standard Chartered as custodian; the first arrangement of this kind with a G-SIB (globally systemically important bank) acting as custodian.
Franklin Templeton sgBENJI (tokenised US Dollar Short-Term MMF, on XRP Ledger)DBS, via repo or third-party platforms with DBS as collateral agentAnnounced intent, not confirmed live18 September 2025 (MOU with Franklin Templeton and Ripple)DBS has stated it will enable sgBENJI holders to use their tokens as collateral for repo-based borrowing, either from DBS directly or from third-party platforms with DBS acting as collateral custodian. Secondary coverage as recently as mid-2026 continues to describe this in future tense ("plans to allow," "to accept"); this tracker treats it as announced rather than live until a primary DBS source confirms the facility is operational.

What this tracker deliberately excludes

Settlement-asset use (a tokenised deposit or stablecoin used to settle a transaction) is not the same as collateral acceptance and is excluded here; Hong Kong's EnsembleTX phase of Project Ensemble, for instance, uses tokenised deposits to settle tokenised MMF transactions, which is a settlement-rail development, not a venue publicly stating it accepts a tokenised MMF as collateral against a credit or margin facility. Conceptual collateral-eligibility discussion (legal recognition, valuation, haircut methodology) lives in Evaluating tokenised assets as collateral; this page is the factual registry that playbook's abstract framework can be checked against.
