Revolut and Bridge launch euro stablecoin EURR across three European markets
Key points
- Revolut has launched EURR, a euro-backed stablecoin issued by Bridge, in a phased rollout initially available to select customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal.
- Bridge, owned by Stripe, secured its Luxembourg MiCA electronic money issuer licence in late July 2026, approximately one month before the EURR rollout began.
- Revolut is Bridge's first European client to deploy a custom stablecoin through the Bridge platform.
- EURR launches on Ethereum, Polygon, and Solana, with plans to extend support to up to eight blockchain networks over time.
- The rollout is described as phased, meaning broader customer access and additional network support remain forward-looking rather than fully live.
Revolut has begun a phased rollout of EURR, a euro-backed stablecoin issued by Bridge, the Stripe-owned stablecoin infrastructure firm, integrating it directly into the Revolut retail application. The initial release is limited to select customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal, marking the first live deployment of a custom stablecoin through Bridge’s platform for a European client.
The timing tracks closely with Bridge’s European subsidiary obtaining a Luxembourg licence under MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation) as an electronic money issuer in late July, roughly one month before this rollout began. That regulatory milestone was the prerequisite that made a compliant euro stablecoin issuance in Europe viable for Bridge.
At launch, EURR is available on Ethereum, Polygon, and Solana, with the roadmap calling for expansion to as many as eight blockchain networks. External wallet transfers are also set to be supported. The combination of a retail super-app with 50-plus million users and a freshly licensed infrastructure layer suggests the market is watching whether phased geography and network expansion accelerates or stalls as MiCA’s full stablecoin regime settles in across the European Union.
