Hamilton Lane's GPA Evergreen Fund Launches Third Tokenised Share Class via Allfunds and Apex

Hamilton Lane has launched a tokenised share class for its Global Private Assets evergreen fund, working with Allfunds Blockchain and Apex Group. BBVA Asset Management, managing nearly €200 billion, is the first investor and holds an exclusive distribution period for institutional portfolios. The share class runs on Allfunds’ permissioned blockchain platform and will be available across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America, with Apex Group acting as transfer agent for digital subscriptions, administration, and servicing.

This is the third tokenised outing for the GPA fund, reflecting Hamilton Lane’s iterative approach to distributed-ledger exposure in private equity. The manager, which oversees over $1 trillion in assets, frames the move as a way to bring diversification benefits of private markets to a broader audience at lower cost and with faster settlement. The arrangement illustrates the emerging model: a permissioned infrastructure partner, a specialist transfer agent handling digital lifecycle events, and an anchor allocator securing early distribution rights in exchange for validation.
